Dining Out

...without the kids - the last opportunity for a while. Our favorite baby sitter going back to college, so we took advantage of her still being here.
Felix loves her and Henry is always happy if someone ist there to play with him.

We went to the library to browse some magazines (and had a coffe before). It closes at 6pm on fridays, so we had plenty of time for dinner. We never went to 'Tre Biccheri' so this was a good chance. Since the weather was awesome, we decided to sit outside.

Great food and great wine is still a winning combination! Ahhh, I'm looking forward to the next time we can do sth like this....

Yesterday we met Mira and her boys at Donner Park. I think it was the hottest, most humid day so far this summer. So the timing wasn't perfect but the boys didn't seem to care and this way Mira and I could finally get together again. Well, chatting was a bit difficult since our little ones, Victor & Henry always wanted to go to the big jungle gym. It was more chasing after them for a while than anything else, but eventally they all settled at the smaller one and we could talk a little... Nice afternoon.

major achievments!

I can't believe it - within two days two major steps accomplished: Felix 1st day of school (he rode the bus) & yesterday he made it: He's riding his bike!!! Awesome sights...

If I dont' write it down now, I'll never do. I thought it'll be easier to post in terms of being up-to-date... Ah well, at least this one get's here right after the event:

We've been invited by a french mom to a 'Crepe' gathering. 7 adults and 16 kids... somewhat challenging to find time to chat with each other. But after a while the kids found their places and we had indeed some adult converstations... oh yes, of course the crepes were delicious!!! Thanks Stephanie!

Living in the country is truly special: When preparing breakfast, a mama deer passed with her two little fawns (Rekitzchen) through our backyard… sooo cute.

Ahhhh, saturday again. We had a nice start into the weekend - the boys slept in, so did we. This past week was quite filled with activities, so there was not much time to relax. But now the weekend's here...
Like last week, we had a big bowl of black raspberries - and Henry likes them now :-)

Looks like we're trading our Van today - we'll miss it - so many memories (all the trips we did with this car... (www.jtus.net/reisen/reisen.htm) )

Currently, Henry's 'obsessed' with cars and pots & pans (car! car! car!; 'pfe, pfe, lllellle' - which translates to Topf, Pfanne and Loeffel which again is pot, pan and spoon) So cute...

sorry about the funny way this layout works - I can't edit the code the way I'd like... I might try a different blog-platform soon and see, which works better regarding the possibilities of programing...

weekend wrap-up

The past weekend was very hot and humid - F & H still needed to be outside. So we filled their little pool and they had a splash! Of course complaints are huge once it's time to go inside again. But a fresh berry or chocolate banana smoothie did the trick... Try it - so easy and delicious. Maybe I should pass the recipes...

We just came in from picking some raspberries. Tey're so sweet this year and so far our friendly neighboors, the deer, didn't eat that much. So still plenty to pick. F had a handful right from the bushes. Little H does not like to eat them - picking seems to be fun though :-)
Better go, H decided to play cooking with my pots an pans...

Green LapCat - 1st post

Finally, after thinking about it for a long time - blog needed or not - I made up my mind. It's friday evening, I consider this a good time to start.

Hopefully this way everyone who is interested to know what's going on in our lives, is able to catch up and stay in touch. With friends and family all over the world, this seems to be a good way. Maybe this can also serve as excuse for those rare emails ;-)
